Introduction
Not all Receipt transactions can be reversed in the Fees > Sales Analysis screens. If the Reverse icon is not available against a receipt transaction, you need to raise a refund in Fees > Collections > Post Receipts and Refunds screen, which then shows as an outstanding amount on the bill payer’s account. You will not be able to match this against the original receipt or show the original invoice as outstanding. The refund represents the original invoice value.
Reverse a receipt when the Reverse icon is not available
- Go to Fees > Collections > Post Receipts and Refunds and select the correct bill payer account.
- Select the Refund option and complete the screen in the normal way.
- Enter the Refund Amount in the Unallocated Amount in this Refund field at the bottom of the screen, then save and post the refund.
