Reverse transactions

Introduction

If you need correct or reverse an Invoice, Credit Note or Receipt there is a reversal tool available in the following Sales Analysis screens:

  • Analyse Invoices – Invoices and Credit Notes

  • Analyse Receipts – Receipts and Refunds

  • View Transaction Details – All transaction types

  • View Account Details – All transaction types

Reversing a Transaction

  1. Go to Fees>Sales Analysis + View option as above
  2. Select the correct option for the transaction type you wish to reverse.
  3. Highlight the transaction to be reversed.
  4. Select the reverse button from the buttons directly above the grid. Only transactions that can be reversed will have the button enabled.

  5. When you reverse an automated invoice from the current run, the system asks you if you want to reinstate the charges so that you can adjust them in the allocation screen and reinvoice them.
  6. Enter the Reversal Invoice date and Fees in advance date (if appropriate).
  7. Follow the posting process for the reversal of the original process.

Note: If you do not need to issue the reversal document to the bill payer, you can select cancel on the delivery screen. For more information on reversing transactions, please see Engage Fees Collections (Sales Analysis section).
