Engage Accounts does not allow you to directly change the transaction date of a posting.

Change the date of a transaction after you post it

To maintain the integrity of the Audit Trail, you cannot directly change the transaction date of a posting. You can, however, use some system tools to help you reverse the original transaction.

  • For Purchase Invoices and Credit Notes, you can reverse the transaction from the Supplier ledger Open Items screen and re-enter it with the correct date.
  • For Purchase Payments you can cancel the transaction from the Supplier Ledger Statement – Matching screen and post a new payment.
  • For Journals, you can use the Change Transaction Date when you drill down on the transaction in the Nominal ledger on-screen enquiry options.

For all other transactions you will need to manually enter a reversing transaction with the same date as the incorrect item and then enter a new transaction.

You may find that a reversing journal has the desired effect as you can determine the reversal period of the posting.

For more information on working with Purchase Ledger transactions, please see the Engage Accounts Purchases guide. For more information on the Nominal Ledger on-screen enquiry screens, please see the Engage Accounts Nominal Ledger guide.
