Introduction
You can use the Settlement Discount fields to calculate a prompt payment discount amount to show on a manual invoice/credit note. Your invoice template must be adapted to show Settlement Discount before you can use it.
Use the Settlement Discount fields in the Post Manual Invoices screen
Setting a default value:
- Go to Fees>Setup>Parent Defaults.
- Select the bill payer account and update:
- Manual Invoice Credit Terms for the default due date - This will override the system default settings in the Account Structure Screen.
- Manual Settlement discount rate per annum - This will set a default Settlement Discount 1 percentage value on the Post Manual Invoice.
- Manual Settlement Discount Days - This can show as a date field on the manual invoice.
Setting an override value:
- Go to Fees>Invoices>Post Manual Invoices.
- Select the bill payer account.
- In the invoice Headers section update/override the Invoice Date, Invoice Due date, and Settlement Discount 1 fields.
- Complete the invoice and post and normal.
- The final invoice will only show the settlement discount information with a revised total to pay where the invoice template has been adapted to show it.
Note: Although you can show Settlement Discount on manual invoices, you have to manage the receipt of a reduced payment manually in the Post Receipts and Refunds screen.
For more information on raising manual invoices, please see the Engage Fees Billing guide (Invoices section).
