Use Is Exam Fee in the Charge and Discount Structure

Introduction

If you have the Exams module within Engage, you can use the information to allocate charges to pupils. When you use the Allocate Exam Fees facility to allocate charges to pupils, it will use the Charge Item nominated as Is Exam Fee to facilitate the allocation.

Use Is Exam Fee in the Charge and Discount Structure

  1. Go to Fees > Setup > Charge and Discount Structure.
  2. Select the charge in the main grid, (or create a new charge item) that you want to use as an Exam Fee.
  3. Select the Is Exam Fee tick box on the right-hand side of Charge Item pane at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Save your settings.
  5. When you allocate exam charges from Fees > Allocation > Allocate Exam Fees the charge item marked as Exam Fee for each paper to the pupil(s). Engage Fees treats the allocation as a current run override for the value and the invoice text will show the Exam paper description.

Note: If you attempt to allocate exam charges without setting a charge as Is Exam Fee, the system will prompt to you select a charge. Follow steps 1 – 4 above and then allocate the exam charges again

You can use Rollup in combination with Examination Charges, if required.
