To configure Engage and set up users and permissions

Who is the course aimed at?

Engage Systems Administrator

What is the recommended course length?

½ Day (3 hours)

Are there any prerequisites?

Software must be loaded onto the Schools server and client launcher installed on the relevant workstations or you must have access to the hosted environment. The Engage System Administrator (course attendee) must have the Administrator username and password.

Important

Please be aware that the course is designed to equip you with the skills to manage this area of the system effectively. It is important that you allow sufficient time and resource to implement the setup after the training has taken place. In many cases this will need to be completed before progressing to another stage of the system.

Component Screen	Purpose	It is essential that you bring the following information to the training session
School Info and Defaults	Set up/check school information including Intake Capacity and Year Groups, Forms and Houses Enter details of Sites, Blocks and Rooms Set system defaults, including Address Formats Set up term dates and breaks Enter details of Departments and Equipment (optional)	Full details of: Year Groups, Forms & Houses, Terms, Breaks & Bank Holiday dates Site, Block & Room information Address format Departments, relevant staff & equipment lists
Creating User Accounts	Create user accounts and assign roles	List of users & roles
Managing Roles & Permissions	Control access permissions using both Assign Screens and Enhanced Security Control permissions for Reports and DMS	An understanding of what each role will do within Engage List of DMS Categories required by admin staff
Managing User Accounts	Reset passwords and control password strengths
Active Directory	Link Engage Users and Active Directory Users (optional)
System Preferences	Apply specific global settings for all Engage Users Configure Email and SMTP Settings Set email preferences for specific Engage modules	SMTP Connection Details School email address
